30 Hours Left! & It’s Five Dollar Friendsday!

Hi friends! My new one-person show is $500 away from it being the musical of my dreams, and with only 30 hours left, I am slamming my foot on the accelerator to literally SPRINT past the finish line. Thank you all so much for everything you've done to get me here. My little theatre kid heart is blooming and exploding so hard!

To get us there, I am doing a few things, not least of which is another Five Dollar Friendsday! Why? Because I’m making a show which means I’ll need an audience for that show! The number of backers helps 1) me, 2) the show itself, and 3) the kickstarter optics!

If you can share this link with your D&D party or favorite group chat and tell them how much a $5 (or even $1) pledge would mean to me, it would make your girl so happy!

We Aren’t Finished, Yet!

In these last 30 hours, to maximize the timeframe, I will:

1)  Five Dollar Friendsday
I am going to be relentless and silly about reaching out to my pals near and far to ask for pledges and people to text other people. I just know that this musical will delight an army of creative nerds—they just need to hear about it!

2) SAVE THE DATE & TIME: Live stream tomorrow Thurs Nov 20 from 11a-3p!
Tune in to watch me countdown the close of the campaign—I’ll be playing games, songs, and doing some writing work on my one shot adventure I’m writing for one of the rewards!

3) NEW STRETCH GOALS
At $35k, this is where things get INTERESTING. This is where my musical becomes JUICY. Can we all just admit we could use a little more juice in our lives?! We have stretch goals planned for up to $45k to include:

  • a "digital set" that can be projected and can travel with me in a hard drive (designed by an independent nerdy fantasy-brained very cool artist).
  • character commissioned art and stat blocks for all of the characters (to be included in the one shot adventure)
  • hiring a choreographer at $40k (the real true goal) for as many songs as we can afford
  • and MORE!

4) Broadway Takeaways on Instagram
I am doing a series on Instagram about WHAT I LEARNED from seeing four Broadway shows this weekend. Three videos are already up, and the other will be released today. Check them out and repost if you can with a CTA to back the KS!

I DM is an Official Selection for the Gen Con Film Festival! Congrats everyone!

I'm soooo excited to announce that my music video for "I DM" is an official selection of the Gen Con Film Festival (the only festival I've submitted it to, honestly).

Gen Con is the nation's #1 gaming convention, and the coolest thing to me is that this is the first year I will be attending as a filmmaker as opposed to a gamer. Crossing these circles in the Venn Diagram of my talents has been a years-long endeavor, as my true passion is longform narrative stories. I know my submission is just a music video, but it's setting the stage for longer formats!

Obviously, I do gaming *and* filmmaking, but this is the first time I have some cold hard proof that I belong in both arenas! I'll be gaining a Gen Con badge as a filmmaker, I'll be going to filmmaker events and hanging out with and celebrating with other filmmakers. Since we're at Gen Con, every filmmaker will *also* be a gaming nerd (just like me), but this subtle yet massive mark of distinct success means the world to me!

Anyway, thank you thank you thank you--I'm over the moon, and you all are the ones who helped make it possible. I'm so happy and proud, so I thought I'd share this big win with you lovely people!

I'll send more details when I get them, but in the meantime, let me know if you intend to go to Gen Con, and I'll see you there!
